The biggest struggle couples have when it comes to planning isn’t finding vendors for their wedding, it’s finding a vendor that fits their style, their personality and the vision they have for their big day.

Lately, couples have shared finding the right person to marry them can be especially challenging. With the ability for anyone to get ordained these days, that might surprise you.

If you’re engaged and are having a hard time finding the right person to marry you, you’re in the right place because I’m going to share how to find the perfect Officiant in today’s post!

There’s something you need to do first before you begin your search.

Most couples miss this part, and honestly, it’s the biggest reason they struggle to find someone.

You both have to ask yourselves the following: “When it comes to our wedding day, what do we look forward to most? Spending the day celebrating or having an unforgettable ceremony we’ll remember forever?”

Answering this question is KEY to finding the perfect officiant for you.

In my years of experience as an Officiant, I’ve found that Couple A; those that find more value in their reception are typically interested in a very basic, simple ceremony.

While they want it to be beautiful, most don’t feel the need for much personalization.

These couples prefer to quickly be pronounced so they can move on to celebrating with their family and guests.

Then, there's Couple B; those that find value in their wedding ceremony typically look for every word that unites them in marriage to be personally meaningful.

Sometimes that includes sharing the story of how they met, fell in love, got engaged, even a few highlights in between. These couples most likely choose to share personal vows with one another during the ceremony.

Most of all, Couple B wants their wedding ceremony to be fun and engaging with all the feels.

All of this said, with so many officiants to choose from, you’re probably wondering the next step to finding the one perfect for you.

Step 1- Stalk them on Social Media

(It’s ok, really! Pro Officiants like me expect you to!) Do this to get a vibe on the images they post. Are they simple or low key? Do you see smiles all around? Do the guests look engaged?

Step 2- Visit their website’s "about" page

One of the best ways to find out what it might be like to work with a particular officiant is to check out the "about" page on their website. Is it all about them or is it all about you, what they can do for you and what you'll experience when working with them?

This page will also most likely describe the kind of ceremonies they perform most often.

Step 3- Read their reviews and recommendations

Review "verified" feedback on Google, Facebook and other social media platforms to discover what couples who have worked with them have to say. What (if anything) about their reviews tell you they can deliver the kind of wedding ceremony you’re looking for?

Using these steps as a guide should help you find an officiant you'll love working with.
